2.1 The Aria Park Protest
06 Mar 2021
The heroes join in a protest at his town hall before Aria Park against martial law and his 7 proclaimations. In response, the new Lord-Mayor Barzillai Thrune announces an 8th Proclaimation that endangers the economy of Kintargo, all but declaring that the well-being of the city is of secondary concern to him, and inciting the protestors to violence. The Chelish militia planted amidst them disrupt the protestors from within them, while his dottari guards prevent the more violent ones from marching upon the town hall and arrests most of the dissidents.
The heroes get out of there and chance upon what seems a noble being mugged by opportunistic militia, and rescues him. His name is Rexus Victocora whose family estate was destroyed in the Night of Ashes couple weeks prior, and he implores the heroes to help resurrect a heroic resistance group from Kintargo's past, known as the Silver Ravens, and bring down the Lord-Mayor.

2.2 Rediscovering the Silver Ravens

The heroes follow the records provided by Rexus' mother about the former hide-out of the Silver Ravens, clearing out feral mastiffs and gremlins before finding their stash. Among other things, they recover the six Silver Ravens of wondrous power, each representing one of the original six members, and a symbol that Kintargans can rally around. They also recover many documents dating back a century or so regarding Kintargo's past, the Silver Ravens, and probably other matters that the scholarly Rexus will sift through to make sense of.
Rexus introduces them to his benefactor, Laria Longroad, owner of the Long Roads Coffee House, who after making clear that she is only in this to restore Kintargo and not to support a violent, chaotic self-serving organisation, is willing to allow use of a secret basement cove under the coffee house for the Silver Ravens' first hide out. First however, they must clear out some smugglers, who have lately turned violent after their leader, who is Laria's friend, went missing. The heroes explore the place and find a dead body rotting in the underground waterway area, the work of a crocodile or alligator. After checking that the tengu smugglers really just want to find their missing leader, the heroes take out a monstrous alligator and retrieve the body, securing the tentative cooperation of the smugglers and Laria's green light to set up their hide-out (perhaps the first of many) in the area, better known as the Wasp's Nest.

3.1 Sallix Salt Works

With the support of Laria, the heroes set up the Silver Ravens in the Wasp's Nest and convince the tengu smugglers to join them as sneaks. After sorting out some details about how they wish to run the Rebellion, Laria suggest to the heroes that they may wish to investigate the ruins of two buildings destroyed in the Night of Ashes - the Thrashing Badger tavern or the Silver Star music store. She also informs them that a group of adventurers led by an old acquaintance Forvian Crowe has been imprisoned at Sallix Salt Works by mercenaries contracted by the Asmodeans, and suggests freeing them.
The heroes scout out the Salt Works once in the day and once in the night, deciding to have Grum and Vagan distract from the front while the rest come in the back. The two dwarves bait the leader - a dwarf fighter proudly displaying the Asmodean symbol - out the front door while the rest make efficient work of those at the back before finishing off the leader. They then free the prisoners and stage the place to look like it was targeted by a robbery.

3.2 Solving the Sabotage

There is some internal tension as the heroes debate whether or not to take the dwarven leader captive, but eventually decide to do so. They also return to their hide-out to learn there has been a death caused by a collapsed wall in the Wasp's Nest, a clear act of sabotage. Grum discerns it was done with small tools by a tiny creature and Yuuko divines with some certainty that it is an imp.
They continue to grow the organisation while interrogating the two teams they have, and although one of the peddlers, Morgar, is noticed to be suspicious and even confesses to mental health problems, hearing voices and compulsion to expose the rebellion, the heroes believe it is the work of an imp. With a clever set up, flour to expose it and a net to stop the target from fleeing, the heroes manage to capture the imp called Blosodriette, who bargains to serve them by adding an addendum to its original contract. In the background, Vagan disposes of the captured Asmodean dwarf after confirming his atrocities and realising the fanatic cannot be converted back to Torag's light.
Meantime, they continue to grow the organisation amidst a string of relatively uneventful weeks, and also check out the Thrashing Badger ruins and the Silver Star ruins. Grum decides to show off his new armored suit and ends up attracting Chelish militia attention, then leads them elsewhere which keeps them from noticing his friends who find an iron coffer buried below the Silver Star ruins. At some point it seems the militia are about to detain Grum for further questioning, but by directing their attention to his own blacksmith and assuring them he is nothing more than a model who has done nothing wrong, they let him be.

History of the Silver Ravens
recovered from below Fair Fortune Livery

The Silver Ravens were established in 4606 AR (109 years before current year 4715 AR) in the wake of the chaos that swept over Cheliax after Aroden’s death to help protect the city of Kintargo from oppression.
The woman who founded the Silver Ravens was a mysterious elf known only as “Jackdaw,” a figure who, before the advent of the Age of Lost Omens, built herself into a sort of Kintargan folk hero who fought for the rights of the city’s downtrodden.
Many of the Silver Ravens were adventurers or worshipers of Milani. Jackdaw, a swashbuckler, was the most powerful and influential of them all, but others who rose to particular prominence among the Silver Ravens were Amyreid (a female half-elf cleric of Milani), Ba (a male halfling enchanter), Kyda (a female human rogue/bard), and Brakisi (a male human urban ranger).
The Silver Ravens defended Kintargo from being conquered no fewer than a dozen times during the Chelish Civil War: five times from power-hungry noble families, four times from agents of Thrune, once from an invasion of skum from the sea, once from a cabal of Nidalese vampires, and once from a blue dragon named Rivozair.
The Silver Ravens maintained their main headquarters in and below the Kintargo Opera House; unfortunately, no information in the documents indicates any other safe houses the group may have maintained.
The Silver Ravens were said to be able to use something called the “Song of Silver” to defend Kintargo when it was attacked by enemies, but sadly, no additional information as to what this mysterious song was can be found in these notes.
( Rexus implores the party to keep an eye out for further clues as to this intriguing notation. )
The last section translated speaks of how the leaders of the Silver Ravens had seen the proverbial writing on the wall — they knew House Thrune was likely to seize control, and had come to the difficult decision to surrender should this event come to pass, hoping to prevent Thrune from razing Kintargo. Indications exist that the cache of treasure and documents hidden in the Fair Fortune were intended to serve as a sort of time capsule, should Kintargo forget the Silver Ravens with the passage of time.

Notes in the Iron Coffer

The coffer uncovers 2 scrolls of Lesser Restoration (500 gp each), and a scroll of Dispel Magic (2000 gp).
From the correspondence within, it seems that Shenshen, the owner of the Silver Star music store, has been offering the underground place as a secret temple and gathering place for devotees of Sarenrae, and the scrolls are accompanied by the letters of thanks addressed to her.

4.1 Tooth Fairies & Brawls

The heroes hear of murders going on in the Devil's Cradle, the ghetto where tieflings reside, and lay a trap for what turns out to be a murderous gang of tooth fairies. They get the surviving two to lead them to their hide out, where they are creating a large collection of teeth to open a portal back to the fey, and also find a mangled body of a tiefling child used for a ritual to summon the tooth fairies.
They also move to investigate daily brawls going on at Clenchjaws oyster tavern, which used to be a fairly quiet place, until the owner started getting sleepy early just after the Night of Ashes. After getting "hired" as peace keeping crew (including bouncers), and talking more to the owner, they gather that magical influence was at play and set up surveillance.

4.2 Rescue & Red Jills

The heroes manage to detect the cause of mischief at Clenchjaws was a faerie dragon, named Vendalfek, and got it to join them instead to entertain people at the Long Road Cafe, as well as supporting the rebellion.
The following week, as the Lord-Mayor introduces "doghousing", which starts to be casually visited on people by the fanatical Chelish militia, they beat up some of the militia and dogs, to rescue and innocent tiefling, in the process getting some guard dogs for their base.
Finally, they take on a band of brigands called the Red Jills, who have been preying on dissidents and enemies of the establishment. They turn out to be rather territorial and attack unprovoked, which eventually turns out in their disfavour as the heroes survive the arrows and flames to take them out.
