Background You are a band of planeswalking adventurers who are drawn to the plane of Athas. There is increasing instability in the fabric of the plane's reality. These seems to be attributed to certain actions, especially those of master defilers. It seems the defiling activities focus on draining life energy, but also weakens reality somewhat. These energies arent purely dissipated to power spells - the defiler retains some aspect of this life force, that remains his own until his death. When such a powerful defiler dies, it should return to its origin to stabilize it.

1. Tectuktitlay the Father of Life Ruler of Draj, city of the Moons 17 Dec 2015
The adventurers surveyed the agricultural kingdom and waited for the festival of the Two Moons to confront Tectuktitlay atop his pyramid. The centre of the pyramid inverted to form a slanted reverse pyramid pit, and in the corners there were 4 altars to Tectuktitlay each maintained by a few Jasuan Temple Guards.
The battle was joined as the Jasuan Guards not busy maintaining the altars proved troublesome with their bone harpoons that reel impaled enemies in to be slashed. Tectuktitlay kept himself among his allies and used the tough armored guards as living shields, calling down from the heavens bolts of radiant necrotic energy and explosive blasts of burning lightning.
As the battle wore on, more Jasuan Guards set aside maintaining the altars and joined in the fray, and the adventurers realized that they would not be able to kill them all before they were done for. They decided to change tactics, focusing on defeating Tectuktitlay. As it turned out, the self styled God proved pretty fragile under fire and went down in the nick of time, and with his defeat his followers scattered.

2. Abalach-Re Grand Vizier of Raam, city of Unrest 06 Jan 2016
In the morass of decadence that is Raam, within the fine-looking keep filled with repugnant hedonistic enforcers of the sorceress queen, the adventurers searched for Abalach-Re. Finally, in the bowels under the keep, the adventurers had to swim through murky blackness of the clogged sewers to find a twisted fane constructed just barely above the filthy waters, where reclined the bloated fetid mass that was Abalach-Re, keeping company with her many chosen guardians.
As the battle was joined, Abalach-Re's form changed into that of a slender svelte lady, crackling with burning psychic energies as she took to the air, unleashing telekinetic and psychic bolts of twisting force, and mindbending energies. The dark murky waters flooded into the fane, blanketing all save her in its filthy darkness, even as her fat decadent High Kuotaghas changed, gaining glowing darkvision eyes, webbed limbs and distending bone from their fingers to form garottes. The healer soon found himself out of position, manipulated and garotted far to one side unable to heal, while the rest were beset by strangling amphibious lurkers in the waters.
Fortunately they managed to extricate the healer to keep the rest up, and found that when injured, the High Kuotaghas could join up into monstrous fleshy creatures of bone claws, and focused on destroying them rapidly one after another before they could do so. In time, Abalach-Re was isolated and though she sought refuge in the filthy waters, the defender locked down on her reprisals before they put an end to her vile, blighted existence.

3. Andropinis Dictator of Balic, city of Sails 13 Jan 2016
The adventurers journeyed to Balic, a prosperous city with comfortable looking citizens that was civilized, well kept and orderly. One of them even questioned why they were planning to defeat the ruler. After searching 4 tall and important-seeming sail-like structures, and activating a device in each of their pinnacles, the central forum area of the city seemed to activate in a forcefield, and the adventurers found themselves transported into a demiplane where they faced their quarry.
Andropinis was a regal seeming old man in white robes, defended by eight fearless seeming praetors that used psychic blue blades from the backs of their wrists. He also summoned ghostly looking legionnaire vestiges that harried and distracted the foes, with vicious curved boomerang like handblades that flashed out. Andropinis himself was surrounded by a small energy field that sent psychic backlash to those who dared even think about attacking him, while obscuring him to those outside of the field. Their foes were many and valiant, and it gave even the veteran adventurers pause, until the wizard realized the key to sacrificing more shade-like vestiges came from sacrificing his praetors as and when they became grieviously injured.
The situation then took a turn for the better, with the adventurers slaying one praetor after another without letting them be sacrificed, and the wizard destroyed most of the vestiges with a well placed fire wall. Unfortunately, Andropinis noticed the healer supporting from the shadows, and after he was exposed, he was given the chance to fall unconscious. However the courageous healer remained standing to the very bitter end, and was slain for his heroics, but not before uttering one last prayer to heal his friends. The battle was still fierce though, and though largely alone by now, Andropinis managed to bring down the adventurers one after another with little hope for recovery. When it seemed all hope was lost, such that even the redoubtable slayer was unconscious on the floor, the battlemind managed to stand up one last time to land three solid hits on the Sorcerer-king, snatching victory from the gullet of defeat.

4. Hamanu the Lion of the Desert, King of the World, ruler of Urik, city of Lions 20 Jan 2016
With their healer returned to life, the adventurers were greeted in an unprecedented way in Urik, city of Lions. They were welcomed by an image of Hamanu himself, and invited to an amphitheatre in the centre of the rather spartan city. There, his Toil Templars filed in to watch the fight, as Hamanu himself manifested in place of his image and welcomed the heroes to take up positions before starting the battle. While he seemed confident, the self-proclaimed King of the World pointed out that there were no others in the city capable of truly standing up to the adventurers, and at least if his Toil Templars could watch, this would be a good object lesson that they might improve themselves upon.
The first part of the battle had Hamanu facing off alone and unassisted against the adventurers, yet even so his power was palpable as his magics siphoned life force from the adventurers to himself, and those caught in the grip of his spells struggled to recover while close to him. The battle took a few downturns from time to time, but the adventurers never seemed likely to be defeated, even as they wore the mighty Sorcerer King down. As he was more worn down, his templars lined up in preparation to leave in an orderly fashion via the stairs, even as four of their number prepared to activate some kind of force field over the amphitheatre, which caused the wizard to fly lower so as not to be caught outside unable to aid his allies.
As they struck what seemed the final blow, Hamanu's form fell upon the sand as the templars activated the forcefield and fled. His body melded into the ground as a sandstorm erupted over the place, blinding all those present, and from the ground emerged a large golden-scaled draconic like dragon, the so-called Lion of the Desert. It radiated an aura of such oppressive magic that those within it could not heal, and the large creature tore through the ranks of the adventurers still reeling from the blinding sandstorm. When the dust settled, all had fallen before its devastating power.
Fortunately, the slayer could recover and rushed to bring the healer back up, so he could get others not near the dragon back on their feet. Now began a desperate battle as the dragon rampaged to and fro the arena, tearing chunks out of whoever would taunt it, and healing could only be done in its wake as the adventurers scattered in all directions. Even as they injured it further and blinding sandstorms shredded the air, they noticed it unleashed more and more attacks, and if they did not finish it soon surely they would all be slain. At this critical moment, the slayer struck himself not once but twice, and if not for the wizard transforming himself into a dragonform to draw the creature's attacks his way, they might not have made it. Even so, it was with his reserves utterly depleted, and almost all his allies having fallen to protect him, that the slayer found himself just barely avoiding the dreadful claw of the dragon that would bring him down beyond recovery. Unleashing what would be his last volley either way in a do-or-die barrage, the dragon let loose one last terrible roar and fell lifeless to the sands. Thus victory was theirs, if only barely.

5. Lalali-Puy the Forest Goddess Oba of Gulg, the Forest City 03 Feb 2016
The adventurers arrived in the jungle city of Gulg to find a fairly welcoming populace, and directions freely given as to the abode of the Lalali-Puy. They could sense an apprehension about the people, as if knowing they meant their beloved Goddess ill, but there was nothing that could be done except to hope their ruler was prepared. Meantime, they noted also that swathes of the forest had already been damaged by the defiling magics, so that some of the trees were actually not even truly there.
The adventurers arrived at a cave in the forest, and found the dark skinned, rather ordinary looking Lalali-Puy guarded by two grey skinned scimitar wielding Judagas. They quickly killed off one of the rather tough Judagas, only to be surprised as the dead man got back up to his feet. Lalali-Puy pronounced a powerful stunning curse on all of them and retreated back into the cave, and after she was gone they felt the spirits of the land direct her powers into their forms even though there was no way she could normally target them. Meantime, the other Judaga moved to engage them, marking those he could and there seemed to be a spiritual compulsion to attack him as long as he was the closest enemy.
The battle started slow, with the adventurers that could act moving to the caves, but only some of them could target her, while those entering the cave with the low ceiling were exposed to the pesky melee attacks from the Judagas. Since the Judagas seemed unkillable, the adventurers were disposed towards ignoring them, but they rushed to harry and get in the way of those they had attacked. In meantime, the cluster at the cave's entrance resulted in Lalali-Puy catching many of them in the buffeting powers of her spirit attacks, while renewing some curses, and teleporting those who dared attacked her far away.
Things took a turn for the better when the wizard figured out the two Judagas were each made from two halves of two separate corpses, thus were bound to each other, and only by killing both could they both be permanently laid to rest. With those settled, they attacked with renewed vigor, only to find the wrath of Lalali-Puy laying low a few of them, while the healer was dragged to one corner and immobilized. Fortunately, he managed to get enough healing to bring up the rest, and after a few more exchanges, though they were battered, the adventurers managed to defeat the formidable Sorceress Queen.
