This is a House Rule and subject to future Revision.
Any extra damage dealt by Escalation is assigned to only one target hit by the power.
This extra damage can be assigned after the initial damage is dealt, and effects are known (ie typically seeing who has already fallen).
If there is more than one extra damage (eg 1d10 and ongoing 10 are separate), the Elementalist can assign them to either the same or different targets.
In addition, the Free Action indicated under Escalation is taken in its sequence in Escalation. ie if it is at the end, then it is taken after the other effects of Escalation are resolved.
