Note: this belongs in Rules but will be here for now, for visibility / accessibility
1 gold ducat (dc) is roughly about £100 today.
If we just assume current exchange is representative (which it probably isnt) that's Sgd 200
Using 1:200 we get nicer numbers.
Avg Income (in dc)
Res 1: 5 peasant
Res 2: 15 businessmen, skilled craftsmen, veteran soldiers
Res 3: 50 merchants, v senior officers
Res 4: 150 nobles
Res 5: 500 rulers
We can also assume the average person has about double their income as their cash. This is not necessarily what folks carry around, but basically liquid.
Note that Resource 4+ is essentially not attainable through work. Resource 5+ is unlikely in game, for now.
========
Suspended Resources
Note that the characters have just been Embraced, and almost all were to some extent salaried, relating to jobs you can no longer perform effectively (or in some cases, receive effectively). They have therefore become suspended until "unlocked" via RP etc.
========
Turning Resources into Cash
Based on Avg income, we now fill out the range further
Income (in dc)
Res 1: 1-7 peasant
Res 2: 8-25 businessmen, skilled craftsmen, veteran soldiers
Res 3: 26-79 merchants, v senior officers
Res 4: 80-259 nobles
Res 5: 260-800+++ rulers
We assume that you can expend a Resource permanently in return for cash. For Randomisation, this is generally 1-3 times of the equivalent income. Res 2 and below cannot be expended.
Multiplier : 1d3
Res 3 Base: (1d8+1) x 10
Res 4 Base: (2d10+6) x 10
In some cases at GM discretion, he can allow the player to convert the Resource into Cash without randomisation. In such a case, the default multiplier is 2, and the Avg Income is used. ie
Res 3: 2x50= 100
Res 4: 2x150= 300
As comparison, the Avg of Randomisation is roughly
Res 3: 2x55= 110
Res 4: 2x170= 340
========
Managing Resources
Resources are not gained solely by expending money. From Res 1-3, securing income is generally sufficient, or a stipend from sponsors.
Generally, opportunity to obtain "Assets", being loosely defined as things that can get you from Res 3 to 4, will be provided in game and will vary. Firstly, they generally cost money, and theres no guarantee they will work out well. This will vary case by case, related to RP. Details will arise in game, if opportunity comes by.
