Shadowy Tome
A black leather bound tome, its cover seeming to fade and pulse slightly with some shadows as if it were ethereal.
Within the tome are lightly shimmering metallic pages with arcane symbols. When cast, the symbols fade away and the page reverts to mouldy brown and black paper that might seem to crumble at a touch.
A sharp metal edge remains at the side of the pages though. All it takes is a cut and a conscious will to restore a page, blood leaving behind a shiny metallic sheen of sigils.

- the Tome is a Spell Trigger item, similar to a Wand
- instead of UMD, the bearer must use a Spellcraft DC 24 prior to using
- if you fail, you can take damage up to the difference of your check (minimum 10 HP) to pass
- you can also choose to "sacrifice" in order to pass. this means accepting 1 Burn, or expending one use of Smite Evil, or taking 2 Con damage
- The Tome has 3 Spells/Charges by default. When you cast successfully, choose from the following spells
A. Greater Infernal Healing
B. Invisibility Purge
C. Haste
D. Dispel Magic with +3 to dispel roll.
The spells are cast at CL11.
- The bearer or an adjacent ally may apply a "sacrifice" as a free action to allow the Tome to regain a charge, but only to a max of 3 charges
- If the bearer is incapacitated or subject to any effect, the bearer may as no action choose for the Tome to appear adjacent to an ally of his choosing
