For those unfamiliar, kunai refers to the ninja knife, jutsu refers to the word technique, and seals refer to few things that are same but different - hand seals and those which are drawn / painted, or formed using chakra.

UB CHARACTER CREATION STEPS

A) CHOOSE AN ARRAY
5, 3, 0 / HP 25, WP 5

Assign the 3 numbers on the left to the following 3 Traits : Physique (Str+Con), Finesse (Dex+Int), Influence (Wis+Cha)

Notes
- HP is Hitpoints, WP is Willpower. WP is typically used to either take an extra standard action (2WP) in bad situations, or reroll d20 / regain an expended ability / regain a Reserve (1WP). It usually refreshes only during Level up.
- Physique is required for Grab, Shove, Trip
- Physique 5+ or Constitution 3+ grants an extra Reserve (default is 2). Reserves are used for healing, when you are out of Reserves and unconscious you are typically out for the count no matter how much Healing your party has.
- Your attack rolls with your abilities almost always uses your Pri Trait (ie highest Trait), and your initiative and most feats use your Sec Trait (ie 2nd highest Trait). Slayers are more Sec Trait oriented, while Tanks are more Pri Trait oriented, with Healers about split.
- Yes this does mean if you so choose you can play a Charisma-based Druid or a Strength-based Wizard etc etc

B) STATS
Assign your points in each Trait among the following pairs.
Str-Con, Dex-Int, Wis-Cha
Eg. Finesse 4 can be Dex1 Int3, Dex4 Int0, etc
Due to most combat effects being based off Traits and not Stats, you have slightly more flexibility in being well-rounded.

C) SKILLS
Get 25 skill points (sp) to distribute among the Skills. Up to +7 in a skill, and the last point costs one extra sp. So +6 costs 6 sp, +7 costs 8 sp.
If in doubt, assign +5 to 5 skills.

Doing well for certain academy classes at the start of the game may provide skill points in specific skills, in which case you can get free skill retrains.

The skills for the campaign are
Str : Athletics
Con : Endurance
Dex : Acrobatics, Stealth, Thievery
Int : Foresight, Form Seals, Identify Jutsu/Seal, Politics
Wis : Heal, Insight, Perception, Survival
Cha : Intimidate, Performance, Persuasion, Streetwise

Skill Notes
Endurance : Also related to Chakra Reserves, which are affected by your actual number of Reserves.
Foresight : Also can be considered Deduction. Refers to reading the situation, what is to come etc, also understanding and reading terrain layout, the opponent's battle situation, etc. Sometimes it requires Identify Jutsu/Seal or maybe Insight to work properly.
Form Seals : This differs from forming jutsus in that those are covered by your abilities, these usually apply to sealing rituals (or undoing them), and being able to form seals that were not formally taught, perhaps even observed. They are also used to craft/form explosive tags, summon tags, etc.
Identify Jutsu/Seal (ID Jutsu/Seal in the CSheet): Recognising different techniques and seals. This relates to reading what they can do, and what they are up to, and even analysing the nature of their techniques which might not be directly related to their seals. Abilities must be identified before they can be copied. Seals generally have to be identified before they can be effectively neutralised.
Politics : Short for politics and history. Knowing the various borders and landmarks, history of various places, who are the past and current leaders of various places, relationship between the different countries, say Fire being at war with Sand, but tenuous peace with Mist, etc. It is also the primary measure of academic aptitude.
Insight : As a note, insight takes consideraable.
Survival : Covers pathfinding in forests and various terrain, navigation including at sea, identifying natural creatures (and sometimes what is unnatural), foraging, etc.
Performance : Non-verbal interactions, or giving a staged/impassioned speech/performance, or disguising as someone else but without verbal mannerisms. See Streetwise.
Persuasion : Applies to verbal interaction or just talking to the person. It applies whether or not the character is lying or speaking the truth.
Streetwise : Includes mixing around with people, picking up local accents and blending into a crowd, hiding in plain sight, and gathering information from very many sources or in a crowd. A disguised character that is trying to pass off a local while talking and interacting will need at least 4 skill points in both Performance and Streetwise, or the modifier for the skill is halved.

D) ARMOR PROFICIENCY
Ninjas do not use heavy armor in the traditional sense, but rely on speed.
Characters default to either light armor/unarmored (AC dependent on Sec Trait), but they can choose heavy armor if they (qualify for and) take the feat Armored Speed.
Heavy armor in the case of Konoha units is reinforced vests, although other villages may use different types of heavy armor.

Shields do not suit the aesthetic of the setting, and are replaced as follows.
Light Shield is replaced by a defensive kunai. Because it is wielded in such a way, it does not require a standard action to un-equip.
Heavy Shield is replaced by heavy bracers in addition to the kunai, and does require a standard action to un-equip.

E) WPN/IMP PROFICIENCY
All chars can use basic weapons. Choose one of below
Implement: Choose +1 vs Fort, Reflex or Will
Weapon: All Military Weapons or One Non-Precise Exotic Weapon (or Unarmed Combat)

Notes / FYI
- if you chose Heavy Armor at step D, you cannot choose Implement Proficiency
- if you choose Implement proficiency, you use Physique in place of Pri Trait for melee basic attacks, and Finesse in place of Pri Trait for ranged basic attacks. If you have Military/Exotic Weapon proficiency, you can use your Pri Trait for all basic weapon attacks.
- all Basic weapons have proficiency 2. Only Precise weapons have proficiency 3.

F) FEATS CHOOSE TWO STARTING
At least One must be a Role Feat

SPENDING UPGRADE POINTS

Starting Level : 4
You have 25 UP (6 UP x 4 Levels + 1) to spend.

2 UP: Gain 5 HP to max and current HP. It is recommended to to purchase *Min* 5 HP per two levels (this minimises the chance of being instantly killed by high damage rolls, ie going from conscious with single digit HP straight to dead due to hitting negative half of your max HP)

2 UP: Gain 5 skill points to assign into skills (max +7 in a skill)
2 UP: Gain Prowess (ie +3) in a skill (stacks with the +7 for an absolute max of +10, before magic items etc)

2 UP: Gain a feat (max 7 feats gained this way). At L11 and L21, gain a free feat and the cap on purchased increases by 7 each (to a total max of 4 free feats and 21 feats purchased)

4 UP: Gain +1 to a Trait. Caps at 4+1 per 5 levels (round up), ie Cap is 5 at L1, 6 at L6, 7 at L11, etc. The UP Cost gradually increases, Trait7-8 costs 6 UP each, then 8 UP for Trait9 and 10 UP for Trait10

3 UP: Gain a Rank1 or Rank2 Signature Attack (SA) / Signature Move (SM) ability.
6 UP: learn a Rank3 or Rank4 Signature Attack (SA) / Signature Move (SM) ability.
Note to gain a Rank2 you need a corresponding Rank1 of the same type and source (ie from same jutsu tree). Same for Rank3 and Rank4.

Story vs Advancement
The characters start out as genin, ie junior ninjas, in training at the ninja academy of Konoha. To fit the story, the following notes apply (numerated for easy reference)

1) Until you are Level 7, you may not take any Rank3 ability.
2) Until you are Level 10, you may not take any Rank4 ability.
3) Above two points may be waived / removed earlier if it fits the story developments, and possibly just for individual characters.
4) All characters start with one primary jutsu tree related to themselves as characters. In addition, some generic jutsu trees are available such as taijutsu (which includes using weapons), ninjutsu and genjutsu, and which typically do not exceed Rank2. These generic trees may be modified to suit individual characters and serve as their individual trees if that's their main area of expertise, such as taijutsu being modified for a kunai throwing character.
5) Characters may also have access to a kekkei genkai (bloodline limit), this can be worked with the GM, requires coherence with their chosen clan/background and typically requires some mastery of their primary jutsu tree to advance. Characters with kekkei gekkai may be more likely to be targeted by enemies and story elements.
5) Multiclass feat is available for the various trees your character would have. Doing well in a class related to a specific style of jutsu may unlock a jutsu tree as if with a free Multiclass feat, but which does not grant skill points.

The campaign won't use Race, but you still get an FRW bonus and based on your background, the GM will assign some appropriate benefit accordingly, as well as the "background ability" (which replaces racial ability).

You can consider Willpower (WP) as a resource used for persevering against bad odds, or sometimes just simply bad dice rolls.
In UB, most resources such as Signature Abilities and Reserves (thus HP) are recovered on a rest, which is typically about 10 minutes, WP is usually the only meaningful character resource to track.

WILLPOWER
Note all uses of Willpower (WP) are considered No Action, especially related to regaining Signatures and when altering d20 rolls for Death Saving Throws.
WP rerolls cannot be re-applied to the same roll.

Resurgence: costs 2 WP (once/battle) :
Regain an expended Reserve and one of following
A) gain +4 to a d20 roll
B) take an extra Standard action on your current turn, but not during surprise round

Recovery: costs 1 WP (twice/battle)
Choose one of following
A) Regain an expended Reserve
B) Reroll a d20 roll
C) Regain an expended Signature Ability that is below Rank 4 and not a Racial Ability. Note that SM Heal can be regained in this way.

Out of Combat Usage : each costs 1 WP, unless otherwise stated

- Add +4 to a d20 roll (costs 2 WP)

- Reroll a d20 roll

- Take 10 on a Skill check

- Manifest an Ability for an out of combat application. If not instantaneous, it typically lasts for a scene, and if combat breaks out during the scene, may be used as a free action at the start of combat or start of the player's first turn. If it is a Signature ability, the ability is expended, however the GM may at his discretion decide it is not (typically when it is left unactivated at the end of a scene). An exceptionally strenuous use might cost 2 WP.

- Press On: The characters did not have opportunity to rest properly before the next major confrontation. In such a case, the GM informs the players they are allowed to spend 2 WP to gain the benefit of a rest. Press On may only be utilised at GM's discretion, if he determines there was enough time (typically at least one minute) to recover.

Notes on Press On

Sometimes it serves the dramatic tension of the situation (players in hot pursuit of fleeing villain) or the players made some missteps in diverting enemy attention from them (setting off all the alarms in enemy keep), resulting in the characters having had an exceptionally short time to catch their breath (eg below 5 minutes but at least 1 minute) or engaged in activity such as running or riding.

Ultimately, this helps the GM save on having to re-balance the next encounter for a depleted party (assuming a balanced encounter is what he wants). It also rewards efficiency in the first encounter for those characters that have kept most of their resources unused that they do not feel a need to "Press On".

VIRTUES & VICES (V&V)

For each character, there are 6 boxes on their sheet indicating up to 3 Virtues and up to 3 Vices.
These are meant as Roleplay aids, to help remind the player who the character they are playing is.

It is not necessary to fill up all 6 boxes, in fact it is probably a good idea to leave at least 2 blank, so over the course of the adventure the player can fill in the V&V that the character is discovered to have. Discovering more about your character at the table can be a rather enjoyable or even fascinating thing.

In addition, the GM may award WP (or Temp WP, in case of the character being maxed) for "good" roleplaying of V&V.

"Good" is very subjective, but usually a somewhat more objective view is taken, in that if the character (due to a specific V&V) takes on a burden / risk / danger that the player would probably not have wanted to (if not for that V&V being present), and possibly suffers for it (or just barely scrapes through), that is typically the normal benchmark for getting WP.

Of course, sometimes it just might be sheer brilliance in RP, but that is very rare, especially since brilliance in problem solving is usually a reward in itself. In view that it contributes to adventure / character progression, therefore it generally does not warrant WP.

Note that because teamwork is very important (if not, utterly essential in UB), using V&V to mess over the interests of the party is generally a bad idea. That said, if the party is agreeable (OOCly, typically) to go along, it can make for extremely memorable and character development scenes sometimes.

In any case, V&V needs to be written down beforehand, because the burden/risk/danger must be related to a pre-existing V&V. It is not a matter of convenience in roleplaying or just randomly adding "Oh I decided he would have a taste for blueberries, so he has a taste for blueberries which is good RP right?", but if it was in the character all along.

I have on at least a few occasions suggested that I would award WP, except that the character did not have any related V&V written down. In that case, my suggestion is to decide if the associated V&V (say, "charity") is a key part of the character, or if it is a one-off thing. If it is a one-off, then do not write it down, but if it is to be key, then write it down, or even replace a pre-existing V&V if there is conflict or just that all 3 boxes of the Virtue/Vice are occupied.

Note that this approach is intended to be a "carrot" without a "stick", so as not to affect player agency. I might occasionally remind a player "Isn't George a cautious character?" but if the player so disregards or feels he is sticking his neck out for a reason, it will certainly not be punished.

Optional Reading : Calculations for those who are curious. The Excel will provide the calculations, really.

Expertise (Exp) scales with your level, and improves your attack rolls, damage rolls, AC, Fortitude, Reflex, Will.
Note that saving throws do not scale with your level, and are always simply success on 10+ on d20 (ie 55% success rate), before modifiers.

Exp increases as follows. Hell's Rebels if run as per the Paizo AP, is theoretically possible to go from L2 to L27.

* Heavy Armor Training is a feat, that grants you +1 to AC every 5 levels, provided your Pri Trait is the highest it can be at that level.

FORTITUDE / REFLEX / WILL = 10 + Exp + Phy/Fin/Inf + Others
Note bearing a shield improves one's Reflex

RESERVE VALUE is 25% of your Max HP (round down), and determines the magnitude of your healing.

WEAPONS & IMPLEMENTS
The following is a simplified list of Weapons and Implements available (as pertaining to Point E of Character Creation).
The description of the weapons is only for reference, it will be reskinned to suit the setting and also your style preferences.

For avoidance of doubt, note that reach just means you are able to attack enemies within 2 squares. Even with a reach weapon, you can only OA adjacent enemies (at higher levels, certain feats and abilities may allow you to gain threatening reach, ie you may OA any creature in your reach). Note you can OA with a reach weapon just fine (some systems disallow the use of reach weapons to attack adjacent foes)

Do not concern yourself with cost for now, generally we do not track cost for mundane gear.

Note you need Military Weapon proficiency to access Proficiency 3 Exotic Weapons, and each Exotic Weapon Proficiency feat grants you access to only one exotic weapon.

IMPLEMENT OPTIONS
The starting options are all equally viable, depending on which defenses are targeted by your chosen abilities.

Starting Options
- Imperious : +1 when attacking Will
- Swift: +1 when attacking Reflex
- Weakening : +1 when attacking Fortitude

Gain TWO Other Options with a Superior Implement Training (SIT) feat. The popular SIT options have been bolded.
Note you can retrain your starting option to any 1 point option below when you gain the SIT feat. The items here never stack with themselves or each other.
- Accurate : +1 when attacking. Choosing this uses up both of your options for SIT.
- Brutal : If your implement ability has a damage dice of d8 or lower, it becomes Brutal1. If it is a d10 or d12, it becomes Brutal2.
- Controlling: When you apply forced movement, ie pull, push or slide, using an implement attack, increase (one of) the forced movement by 1 square.
- Empowered (type) : Choose from acid, cold, fire, lightning, poison, psychic, radiant, necrotic. You gain +2 bonus to damage rolls with implement attacks that deal that type of damage. This increases by +1 at levels 11, 21.
- Extended: The range of your area, ranged and wall implement attacks increases by 1, and ranged basic implement attacks increase by 2.
- Scourging: You gain +1 bonus to all implement damage rolls. This increases by +1 at levels 11, 21.
- Warding : When you hit with an implement attack, you gain +1 shield bonus to AC and Reflex until ENT.
- Imperious, Swift or Weakening, as per the starting options

Note that Borne Implement is also reasonably popular, for when players want to equip an extra magical implement, based on the Magic Items available. Since that will not be likely to come up early in the Hell's Rebels campaign, it has been omitted from the recommendations here.

ROLES
The following is written here for easy viewing. It is rehashed in the Feats pdf, to a greater detail, and there are no contradictions (please PM me if you see them).

HEALER
A Healer has two uses of SM Heal (below).
A Healer adds his Pri Trait to the amount of healing restored, plus that from other feats which boost the HP regained.
If a character uses an ability with the Healing keyword but is not in the healer role, the one who spends the Reserve only gains THP equal to his Reserve Value, with no bonuses (including from the ability itself).
For avoidance of doubt, note that the Rally action does not have the Healing keyword (see end of this post)

SM) HEAL (Healer)
Swift
Burst 5 (Self or 1 Ally)
Effect (Healing): Target spends Reserve and regains extra 1d6 HP at levels 6,11,16,21,26.
Special: This ability is usable twice per encounter. Once you use up your last Heal, you can no longer switch roles and remain in Healer role until you rest.

SLAYER
A Slayer deals extra Slayer Damage when hitting with an attack roll and dealing damage.
This damage is equal to their Sec Trait, and is increased by +2 at Level 5, and +3 more at Levels 15 and 25.
Slayer Damage is applied once per action, to one creature that is hit.
Slayer Damage may only be applied with melee or ranged abilities that make no more than 2 attack rolls, and also area, blast, burst and wall abilities that occupy no more than 9 squares (unless feats allow otherwise).

For new players, it is not recommended to take the optional Slayer feature, which is Quarry.

TANK
When you first gain the Tank Role, you gain the Tank CM Mark, and one other Tank CM from below. CM means Common Move.
For abilities where it is indicated "max speed", it means your movement may not exceed your speed. Since "slow" etc effects affect your speed, they will cap the movement that comes about.
In addition to CMs, a Tank generates THP equal to his Pri Trait at the start of his turn, also known as Tank Resistance.
If you switch out of Tank role while you have THP, deduct your Tank Resistance from your THP.
For avoidance of doubt, you only generate THP at the start of your first turn in combat.

CM) MARK (Tank)
Free
Special (see below)
Effect: When you end your turn, you mark any number of enemies adjacent to you, or one target within Blast5. The mark remains until ENT, or until you fall unconscious. Marks from multiple characters do not stack, and the latest mark overrides the previous.
When an adjacent creature that is marked by you shifts, you can make an OA against that creature.
Creatures disobey your mark when they make an attack that does not include you, and they take -3 mark penalty to attack roles when disobeying your mark, in addition to other effects.

Note: In addition to their CM Mark, Tanks come with quite a few options for Tank Punishment, ie the "one other Tank CM"

CM) ASSAULT (Tank)

Personal
Trigger: A creature disobeys your mark.
Effect: You make a melee basic attack against the disobeying creature. If you used an interrupt, you may first shift half Pri Trait squares (max speed) adjacent to the disobeying creature.

CM) DISRUPTION (Tank)
Interrupt
Ranged 10 (Triggering Creature)
Trigger: A creature disobeys your mark and hits your ally.
Effect: You make a ranged basic attack against the triggering creature.
Hit: The attack never deals damage, but the triggering attack roll takes a penalty equal to your Sec Trait + 2.
Special: This attack never provokes OAs and cannot be substituted through other means. You may not use this ability more than once per turn.

CM) RETRIBUTION (Tank)
Interrupt or OA
Burst 10 (Triggering Enemy)
Trigger: A creature disobeys your mark.
Effect: Target takes damage equal to your Pri + 3. This increases by 3 at levels 11, 21.
Special: When you first gain this ability, choose from acid, cold, fire, lightning, necrotic, poison, psychic, radiant. The damage dealt is of this type. You may not use this ability more than once per turn.

These actions are not related to any roles, and can be taken by any character.
Note the term "CM" isn't really accurate to these, they are not abilities and are actions, similar to moving.

Action) TOTAL DEFENSE
Standard, Personal
Effect: Until ENT, you gain a +2 circumstance bonus to all defenses.

Action) RALLY
Standard, Personal
Effect: Until ENT, you gain a +2 circumstance bonus to all defenses, and may spend a Reserve (and regain HP equal to your Reserve Value). If you are a Healer have a Healer feat, add your Pri Trait to the HP regained.
Special: Rally does not have the Healing keyword. A character may use a DC 8 Heal (or Medicine in some settings) check to force Rally on an adjacent character. The character may then spend a Reserve, but does not gain the defensive bonus.

Note that theoretically, the Total Defense action can be deleted and completely replaced it with Rally, just that it becomes cumbersome to communicate "Gandalf uses Rally but he doesn't spend Reserve" vs "Gandalf does Total Defense." Hence the two separate actions listed are also for convenience in communication.

FEATS

Every character starts with 2 feats, one of which must be a Role feat.
From there, each character can purchase up to 7 more feats at 2 UP each.
The list of feats can be very long and intimidating, so to save you some time, here are the more common ones.

ADEPT FEATS (Characters can only take one Adept Feat)
- Adept Protector: The penalty caused by your marks increases from -3 to -4. Whenever one of your abilities grants a bonus to a defense, increase that bonus by 1.
- Adept Slider: Choose from acid, cold, fire, lightning, poison, psychic, radiant, necrotic. Whenever you hit with an ability that deals that type of damage, you can slide the target 1 square.

DEFENSIVE FEATS
- Improved Armor Proficiency: You gain proficiency with better armor, which grants +1 AC but -1 to skill checks with strength, dexterity and constitution skills. Taking this feat has no effect if you do not wear armor.
- Primary Defense: When you wear light armor or no armor, you can use your Pri Trait in place of your Sec Trait to determine your bonus to AC.
- Shielded Step : You gain a +1 shield bonus to AC and Reflex.

OFFENSIVE FEATS
- Enlarge: When using an area, blast, burst or wall ability, you may increase its size by 1. If you do, the damage is reduced by 2 for each dice of damage rolled (if it is a weapon attack, each 1W counts as one dice) You cannot use this for a racial ability, or with an ability that does not have a damage roll.
- Polearm Trip: Whenever you use a two-handed reach weapon/implement to push or slide a target 2 or more squares, you can also knock that target prone at the end of the forced movement.
- Renewed Effort: Once Before Resting, when you miss with an attack roll, you may use a Free Action to gain an ability bonus to that attack roll equal to your Sec Trait.
- Startling Charge: When you charge and hit an enemy that is unguarded against you, you deal 1W extra damage. If you used an implement and not a weapon, you deal 1d8 extra damage.
- Talent: Choose Fortitude, Will, or Reflex. You gain a +1 class bonus to all attacks that target AC, as well as Basic Attacks and Common Attacks that target the chosen FRW defense.
- Unguarded Precision* : Whenever you attack an unguarded enemy, you gain an additional +1 bonus to attack rolls.

* - Unguarded Precision is usually only worth taking after first taking Talent, or in the odd case that Talent does not apply to most of your attacks.

STYLE FEATS (Characters can only take one Style Feat)
- In Your Face: When making a ranged or area attack, you can take a -2 penalty to your attack rolls in order to not provoke OAs.
- Precise Shot: Your ranged attacks ignore cover and superior cover.

UNGUARDED ASSAULT FEATS
Note that in order to flank with an ally, that ally must be able to make Opportunity Attacks against the target, ie must be wielding a melee weapon he is proficient with, and must not be dazed or blinded.
These feats help cause enemies to be unguarded against you, granting you a +2 attack bonus. Slayers also may proc Brutal Advantage feat, and thus they typically prioritise Unguarded Assault feats.

- Swift Attacker: Enemies that are immobilized or slowed are unguarded against you. At level 11, enemies that are deafened or weakened are also unguarded against you.
- Single Out: Enemies that have no creatures adjacent to it, or have no creatures adjacent to it except you, are unguarded against your melee and ranged attacks
- Versatile Flanker: Whenever you and your ally are adjacent to an enemy, you are treated as flanking
that enemy. Your ally is not treated as flanking (unless he also has this feat, of course)

ROLE FEATS
The following are Role feats, so remember you must take at least one.
When you have multiple Roles, you can swap between Roles from turn to turn, but remember that a Role feat grants no benefits when you are not in that Role.

HEALER FEATS
- Dedicated Healer (H): Whenever you use a Signature ability with the Healing keyword, you heal extra HP equal to your Sec Trait.
- Defensive Heal (H): When you use the S.M. Heal, the target gains an ability bonus to all defenses equal to your Sec Trait against the next attack made against him until ENT.
- Timely Aid (H): When you use the S.M. Heal on a bloodied target, you heal an extra 1d6 HP.

SLAYER FEATS
- Brutal Advantage (S): Once per turn, when you hit an unguarded target with a melee or ranged attack, you deal additional Slayer Damage equal to your Sec Trait.
- Deadly Slayer (S): Once per turn, when you hit a target with a melee or ranged attack, you deal 4 additional Slayer Damage. This damage increases to 7 at level 21. While you have this feat, having Physique 5 or Con 3 does not increase your number of Reserves by 1, unless Physique is your Pri or Sec Trait.
- Lethal Slayer (S): Your Slayer Damage increases by +2. This increases by +1 at levels 11, 21.
- Powerful Burst (S): When you use any area, burst, blast or wall ability, you can deal your Slayer Damage once to each target you hit.

TANK FEATS
- Adroit Tank (T): Your armor and shield proficiencies improve by one step. When not in Tank role, if you are wearing armor or shield that benefits from the improved proficiency granted by this feat, you retain the proficiency but bonuses to AC and FRW defenses decrease by 1 for each piece of improved equipment you are bearing.
- Daunting Defense* (T): The penalty caused by your marks increases from -3 to -4.
- Keep Still (T): When you hit with an OA, that creature's movement immediately ends. If that creature is marked by you, it is also immobilised until the end of this turn, ie the turn during which you hit it.
- Marking Strike (T): After you make an attack during your turn, you can use a free action to Mark Sec Trait number of creatures that were attacked by you and within 5 squares of you. The Mark remains until ENT or until you use your C.M. Mark.
- Mighty Protector (T): When you deal damage to an enemy that is marked by you, you deal extra damage equal to your Sec Trait.
- Persistent Mark (T): Your Marks last until you fall unconscious, or until the next time you use the C.M. Mark. As a free action, you may choose to end any number of your existing Marks at the end of your turn.
You may also choose to use Mark as a swift action during your turn.
- Tough Resistance (T): Prerequisite: You have a rating of at least 5 in Athletics or Endurance (before check penalties)
Whenever you gain THP (including that from Tank Resistance), increase the THP gained by 1. This increases by 1 at levels 11 and 21. In addition, if you have Heavy Armor Proficiency, you gain Training, even when you are not in the Tank role.

* - note Daunting Defense is only worth taking if you want to take Adept Slider (or a different Adept feat). Otherwise, Adept Protector will always be the better choice.

Thinking to test the following custom feat, welcome feedback (maybe now, maybe later).

Separately, do note (as per Naruto Character Creation thread above) you need Con3 or Physique5 to get a third Reserve conventionally.


Reserve Chakra
Prerequisite: You must have at least 3 Reserves.
Once per Level, you can lose 1 Reserve in place of using 1 WP. If used for Recovery, it can be used to regain a Racial, and never counts towards the twice per battle/encounter limit of Recovery.
Under certain circumstances (typically a restful interlude), you may regain the use of this feat despite not having gained a Level.
