Campaign Skills
Str: Athletics Con: Endurance Dex: Acrobatics, Stealth, Thievery *Int: Occult, Research, Technology Wis: Heal, Insight, Perception, Survival Cha: Intimidate, Performance, Persuasion, Streetwise
* - INT skills Occult refers to anything related to religion or magic or other strange occurrences
Research is just a made up term referring to academic knowledge of various Pokemon and Pokedexes etc. It could probably be 'Nature' since Pokemon are technically just animals, but I wanted to avoid confusion with the Nature skill used in various games.
Technology refers to handling devices and the gizmos etc. there might be some overlap with Thievery, such that being trained in both Tech and Thievery can aid certain disabling of devices (similar to PF1E disarming of magical traps)

Damage Types
For reference only, might not be used.
Any given ability tree will only have type of damage, so short of multiclassing/evolving there will not be multiple damage types on a single opponent.

I don't think we will implement weaknesses/effectiveness, but if so, its adjustment will be based on following guidelines
1) Each Pokemon is classified as a certain specific type, based on the above 8. Each will be effective against 1 type of damage and resistant against 1 type of damage.
2) Effectiveness deals Sec extra dmg, and resistance deals Sec less dmg. This will adjust UB enemies with relative ease, but can lead to sudden deaths with Criticals.
3) Given the above, if it is implemented players should be given the opportunity to adjust their UP distribution and (typically) increase their HP to avoid getting suddenly killed against the foes that are effective against them.
4) When a Pokemon evolves, it may gain a Multiclass feat, and can choose to change its type. After changing its type in such a manner, its new type is known. Alternatively if above is too complicated and leads to arguments, it can be simplified that evolving does not change its type.

Level and Abilities
Starting Level will be Level 2.
Tentatively magic items will not be part of the game, but we can discuss later.
Racial Traits and Racial Ability will be picked by the GM based on each type of Pokemon.
In their S abilities, each Pokemon will have one Rank2 Interrupt and one Rank3 interrupt.

Each PC's ability tree will be of one damage type, and all be either implement or weapon type, not both. Generally speaking, attacks in a tree will target the same defense.
Each PC's ability tree will be either ranged or melee focused. A ranged focused tree has max of one Area Common Attack (CA), and a melee focused tree has max of one burst/blast CA. Their SA progressions are also typically of the same nature as their focus.
Pokemon is primarily a 1v1 game, so welcome any requests to swap a ranged focused tree to area focused tree, or a melee focused tree to a blast/burst focused tree.
PCs can forgo access to their Racial ability to pick a CA that is not in their tree listing, and which may be of a different type compared to their tree's focus, however it must target the same defense as the tree. Some suggestions might be offered in each Pokemon's thread.
On Evolution (typically L11) may a PC may pick a Multiclass feat. When doing so, they may pick a CA that is not their tree listing (including freeing up to access the Racial ability forgone from the previous). They may also unlock a new ability tree with the same/similar focus and targeted defense their chosen special CA.
If a PC does not have an evolution, the PC may nonetheless Multiclass at L11.

On request, due to the restriction on Multiclassing and needing to 'pay' Racial for a special CA, we will apply the following if a player is forgoing Racial ability.
A player may swap out a Rank1 (or higher) S ability for access to the Racial.
The ability is still a Racial when substituted in this way, so cannot be refreshed by Willpower, nor can it be expended in place of a Signature such as for Power Versatility and other interactions.
